The latest PAX Labs product heats up in less than 30 seconds, offers four pre-programmed temperature settings, a more efficient battery and a Bluetooth function, thanks to which we can connect to the PAX Vapor App mobile application used to manage device settings, incl. to modify programmed temperature settings. The heating chamber and the vaporization channel itself are the same as the PAX 2 chamber and channel, so the vapor quality remains at the highest level in its class. Despite minor external changes, what we find inside will surely attract attention. What is highly appreciated by users is the fact that PAX 3 is covered by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

Two options are better than one

Already on the proverbial "good morning", the manufacturer showed a professional approach to the subject, offering not only a fantastic device, but also two sets of accessories to choose from: basic set - Basic Kit and extension setny - Complete Kit.

On the other hand, the extended set also includes a half pack lid, used to vaporize a smaller amount of herbs, an adapter for concentrates with a spare gasket, 3 spare strainers, a key ring with a hidden dabber, and a cover for transporting our gem.

Both versions are packed in a very aesthetic box, equipped with a magnetic closure and compartments dedicated to individual accessories.

How the PAX Vaporizer works 3

If you have had contact with the previous versions of PAX vaporizers, the latest version of this device will definitely not be a puzzle for you. The designers certainly did not try to reinvent the wheel, although they did improve the rolling parameters.

For those who will have this device in their hands for the first time, I will try to explain the operation and operation of the vaporizer.

The heating chamber is located on the bottom of the unit and is secured with a magnetic cover that can be opened by pressing on one of the edges.

After filling the chamber with your favorite type of herb and securing it with a suitable lid - half pack (with an additional cone) with small amounts of material or with a standard one, when the chamber is full, you can start vaporizing.

To activate PAX 3, press the center of the mouthpiece at the top of the vaporizer. To enter the vaporization temperature setting mode, press and hold the mouthpiece with the device turned on previously. After entering the temperature setting mode, the appropriate temperature is selected by briefly pressing the mouthpiece. After selecting the correct temperature setting (1-4 LEDs will be lit depending on the selection), press and hold the mouthpiece to exit the temperature setting mode, or lightly shake the device. The device will immediately start heating to the selected temperature automatically. After connecting the device to the PAX Vapor App, you can set any temperature, in the range of 182-215 ° C, for vaporization with an accuracy of 1 ° C. The warm-up time is short, PAX 3 is ready for the session after only 15-20 seconds, which is indicated by a short vibration of the device and the green LEDs on the front panel of the vaporizer. The only thing left to do is put your lips to the mouthpiece and enjoy the session. If we want to use PAX 3 to vaporize concentrates and waxes, we have to use a dedicated adapter - fill it with material and place it in the heating chamber. The adapter will protrude slightly beyond the body of the unit, this is normal for PAX 3 and is easier to disassemble the lid. For sessions with wax and concentrates, I recommend starting immediately with the highest - fourth temperature setting.

Mobile application - PAX Vapor App

A simple and pleasant application with an intuitive and smooth menu encourages to use. The mere pairing of the device with the phone is quick and painless. After the installation, we have a choice, whether we want to start the session right away, or maybe we prefer to see a short, slightly 2-minute long instructional video. I recommend it especially to people who have not had contact with previous versions of the device. In a nutshell, you will be given information on charging the battery, preparing the herbs and the device for the session, and you will be able to familiarize yourself with the basic messages displayed by the LEDs on the front panel of the vaporizer.

Thanks to the application, we are able not only to precisely set the vaporization temperature and personalize our device, but above all, we have access to several device operation modes, additionally offered to us by the manufacturer:

  • Standard - the basic setting available in PAX 3 in manual mode, the temperature of the heating chamber rises when inhaled and drops to the starting temperature when no air flows through it.
  • Flavor - As the name suggests, this setting is designed to help preserve the flavor of the couples. Here, on-demand heating is of key importance.   • Stealth - the main purpose of this setting is to reduce odor emitted from the device during use and to conserve battery power. In practice, it boils down to faster cooling of the chamber, lower temperature in the stand-by phase and reducing the intensity of LED diodes.


    • Taste

    Taking into account the fact that not much has changed in the design of the "furnace" and the air passageways, the taste and quality of the clouds are also similar to the ones we know from PAX 2. Inhalation will provide us with smooth steam and a satisfactory taste.

    Thanks to the modes described above, we are able to gently change the flavor and density of the clouds. The fact that the user can change not only the heating temperature in individual modes, but also the way the device works (the time and method of drying the herbs and the cooling time of the chamber), PAX 3in terms of adapting the device to your needs, it stands out from the competition.

    However, it should be remembered that it is a conduction vaporizer, so we always lose a bit of the taste. Additionally, it should be remembered that although we have a choice of four vaporization temperatures (182 ° C, 193 ° C, 205 ° C, 215 ° C) and we can still set our own selected temperature in the range of 182-215 ° C, it is not possible to increase the temperature beyond the fork already available.

    In other devices available on the market, we are able to obtain a higher temperature during the session and the lack of this possibility limits the quality of the pairs obtained.

    The obvious issue is the similarity to its predecessor, PAX 2. Given the lack of much interference in the method of heating and transporting the steam, this is a fair statement. The biggest difference compared to PAX 2 and the first edition of PAX 3 is the matte finish of the housing. Apart from the aesthetic value, the matte finish means that the device is no longer so noticeable and there are no fingerprints on it that appeared after the first touch on the shiny predecessor, which made the device look like a perfect evidence at a crime scene. Matte finish and partially new colors will satisfy the most demanding tastes.

    Niceon the manufacturer's side that in the Complete Kit set he thought about adding a half pack lid, intended for vaporization with less herbs. A simple thing, and it makes fun! When it comes to concentrates and waxes, well, I respect the designers' efforts, but the maximum vaporization temperature may be simply insufficient.

    As for the build quality itself, it is on a high level. The device has a pleasant, ergonomic shape, and the individual elements are made of solid materials and precisely matched.

    Veryit was a nice surprise for me that the designers used a more efficient one battery , without resizing the device itself. Instead of the previous 3000 mAh available in PAX 2, in PAX 3 we have 3500 mAh "under the hood". A change of 500 mAh may seem insignificant, however, it results in an average of two additional sessions, which in the outdoors or in the absence of a charger at hand can make a significant difference. The charging time itself is also at a decent level. It takes about 100 minutes to fully charge the device from 0 to 100%.

    Discretion

    As in the case of PAX 2, the new version remains one of the smallest vaporizers currently available. With dimensions of 9.83 x 3.07 x 2.16 cm and a weight of 95 g, this vaporizer is slightly larger than a standard lighter. In addition, the increased battery capacity means that the charger will also land in your pocket or backpack less often. The appearance of the device itself does not reveal its use, because at first glance it may be associated with a modem or a power bank, and in a women's handbag it can easily pass for a cosmetic or a perfume bottle. As for the generated fragrance, by using the Stealth mode, we are able to significantly reduce its amount and intensity. It is a nice tribute to people who value discretion. Let's face it, we live in the aftermathchases after huge clouds and such a solution is not always a standard.



    Summary

    PAX 3it's a very decent development of the previous model. I love the app, it offers more than just a temperature change. It's nice that we have the option to choose any vaporization temperature in the range of 182-215 ° C, but it would be useful to increase the maximum temperature beyond the ranges available in the other four modes. On the plus side, you should definitely include a more efficient battery and the possibility to choose from two sets that differ in the number of accessories included. I am glad that the controversial high-gloss casing, which was fingerprinted just from looking at it, was replaced with a much more practical, matte finish. People who pay special attention to aesthetic values should appreciate this change.

    If you are looking for a vaporizer thaty is characterized by small dimensions and discretion, it is definitely worth paying attention to this model. You will get decent taste and satisfactionchoking clouds. The speed of operation is also an undoubted advantage of PAX 3. The price remains a controversial issue, but if you do not intend to vaporize concentrates and focus on intensive vaporization of herbs, you can always choose a more modest and cheaper Basic.
